MICHAEL ANGELIDIS
 
     Michael Angelidis completed his 29th season of coaching and playing basketball, and his 4th season as head coach at Kentwood H.S. by leading the Conquerors to the Washington 4A State Championship.  In his four years at Kentwood, the Conquerors compiled a 74-37 record, went to the State Tournament twice and won the tough SPSL North League two years in a row.  Coach Angelidis was voted SPSL Coach of the Year and WBCA Coach of the Year. 
 
      Prior to Kentwood he coached at Mount Carmel H.S. in Chicago. While at Mount Carmel, the Caravan had its first winning season in eight years and the 16 wins during the 2005 season were the most for the basketball program in a decade. Coach Angelidis played basketball in Greece and was a member of the 1984 National Championship team. In addition, he was a scout for the Greek Olympic Team during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. 
 
      Prior to Mount Carmel he was the Head Coach at Marmion Academy in Aurora for six years. While at Marmion, the Cadets won twice as many games as in the six years prior to his arrival. Coach Angelidis was an assistant coach at Mount Carmel for two years, and helped coach the Caravan to a Catholic League and Regional Championship. 
 
      Before his first stop at Mount Carmel he was an assistant coach at Loyola University in Chicago. Coach Angelidis graduated from the University of Patras in Greece and later received a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University. He has received a Calculus Fellowship from the University of Chicago. He is currently teaching A.P. Calculus and A.P. Statistics in the Math Department at Kentwood HS. Mike, his wife Ellenore, their two sons, Dimitri and Damian, and daughter Leyla reside in Issaquah.
 
 
MICHAEL KELLY
 
        Mike Kelly is entering his sixth season as the head basketball coach at Seattle Preparatory School (Seattle Prep) and his 13th season as a head coach in the greater Seattle area.  His teams have qualified for the WIAA State Tournament in 6 of his 12 seasons as a head coach as well as capturing a top 8 finish 5 times--including a State Championship in 2006 with Prep. 
 
        Currently, 13 of his former players are playing athletics at the collegiate level, while two are fortunate enough to be playing professionally in the NBA.  Prior to Seattle Prep he coached at both Redmond High School (1998-2004) and Liberty High School (1996-1998). Coach Kelly was named “Coach of the Year” in 2006 by the Associated Press and by the Washington State Coaches Association. In 2004, Mike was given the KingCo League “Coach of the Year” award and has made 12 straight playoff appearances (1999-2010). The Washington Associated Press has ranked his teams as being in the top 10 in the state 8 times. 
 
        EBC is very excited to have Coach Mike Kelly on board to help shape the basketball programs around the same success that he has experienced.  With him and Coach Mike Angelidis, Eastside Basketball Club stands on a firm foundation of experience and a high level of success.
 
 
 
EDWARD NETTLES Girls 8th Grade Elite

Coach Nettles, Founder and Executive Director of Eastside Basketball Club, is bringing 20 years of coaching experience in youth athletics to the club.  Prior to founding EBC he was a retail stores manager with industry leaders like Staples, Target and Lowes.   

 

Edward played soccer and baseball at Jesuit High School and Mountain View High School in Vancouver where he was a 3 year letter winner.  An accomplished soccer player, he was part of the Olympic Development Program and All State selection in 1989.

 

Coach Nettles has coached the 5th Grade Elite to 3 championships and a 2nd place finish in the Prestigious Ultimate Showcase in Las Vegas, all of which took place in EBC's inaugural season. 

 

Coach Nettles and his wife Kristina, EBC’s facility director, reside in Sammamish with their children Briana, Aaron and Kayla.

 

 

 TODD L. RUBIN  High School Elite I


      

        Todd Rubin completed his 3rd season as head coach of the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors this year leading them to their third straight playoff appearance. In his three years at Edmonds-Woodway Todd has developed a feeder program that provides 5th-8th grade teams the opportunity to play at a competitive level and has created and run the Future Warrior Basketball Camps. Through his efforts he as installed a quality high school basketball program. This will be his second year coaching and training at the Eastside Basketball Club. Prior to coaching at Edmonds-Woodway, Todd was the JV Head Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach at Seattle Prep for four years and helped the Panthers win a State Championship in 2006.
       
        Todd who is also in his 7th year of teaching Health and Physical Education coached 4 years of baseball before coaching basketball year around. Todd has coached multiple elite summer teams and was the JV Coach/Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Bellevue High School and Sammamish High School.

 

        Todd played four years of collegiate baseball at Linfield College where he majored in Health and Physical Education. He is currently on working on his Masters in Sports Administration, Physical Education Exercise & Sports Science. Todd resides with his wife Andrea in Redmond. 
 

 

 

JOSH BOLLINGER  High School Boys Elite II; 9th Grade Boys Elite; 6th Grade Boys Panthers (B)

Coach Bollinger begins his second year at EBC, and is currently the head coach for the boys’ junior varsity at Seattle Prep, as well as the assistant coach on the varsity team.  

Josh was born and raised in Everett and was a standout at Mariner High School.  He was a three year letter winner and led the team in scoring all 3 years of his varsity career.  During his senior year the Marauders advanced to the 4A State playoffs.  Josh played a significant role in his school’s rebuilding years and was recognized with the "Coaches Award (MVP)" in 2002 as well as the Snohomish County Basketball Officials Association "Sportsmanship Award."  Josh continued his playing career at Everett Community College and finished it at Northwest University where he is majoring in Communications.

Josh has already coached two Championship teams at EBC, as well as tournament championships, and resides in Kirkland. 

 

NICHOLAS CROSSAN  Boys 8th Grade Elite

Coach Crossan begins his second year with EBC.  He brings a lot of Eastside basketball experience to the club having being a standout player at Skyline High School where he was a four year starter and letter winner.

 

Nicholas was one of top ranked point guards during his high school career, and during his junior and senior seasons led Skyline in most statistical categories.  A highly recruited player out of high school, he was selected to participate in the King-co 3A/4A All star game.

 

Nicholas resides in Sammamish and will be attending Bellevue College in the fall.   Nick has brought home 1 Championship for EBC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

BRIANA NETTLES  Girls 4th Grade Elite, Girls 5th Grade Elite

Coach Nettles is no stranger to either AAU basketball or Eastside basketball.  She played basketball for the Eastlake Select program and for Emerald City and was a member of Eastlake’s varsity when a major knee injury during her sophomore year ended her basketball career.

Briana is beginning her second season with EBC, will be attending Bellevue College majoring in Business Law with a minor in broadcast journalism and resides in Sammamish.

Brianna has won 2 championships for EBC

 

 

MARK PRINCE   Boys 5th Grade Panthers

Coach Prince, EBC’s president and board member, has been coaching and training with EBC for the past 2 years.  Mark was recently named Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Cedarcrest High Shool in Duvall.     www.chsboysbasketball.webs.com

Mark graduated from Central Washington University with a BA Degree in Education.  Mark played both basketball and baseball at Kamiakin High School in Kennewick, WA where he was recruited for both baseball and basketball.   Mark was a two sport athlete in both the High School and Collegiate levels, and earned All-League honors as a 3rd baseman.  He was provided a tryout opportunity with the Cubs before injuring his arm.   

Mark has been involved in coaching youth sports for the past 8 years.  He currently coaches both basketball and baseball at the youth level on the Eastside.  Mark and his wife Carol reside in Sammamish with their children Mackenzie and Dalton.

Mark has 2 Championship while coaching at  EBC 

 

 

TYLER SMITHSON  Boys 7th Grade Elite, Boys 4th Grade Panthers II

Coach Smithson begins his second season with EBC.  Prior to EBC, he worked at ECBA as high school director, and coach of the Junior Varsity High School Team.  He has also been an assistant at Eastside Catholic where he conducted individual workouts with former NBA assistant Tom Newell.

Tyler played high school basketball at Lake Washington High School, where he set the career assist record.  He went on to letter at the University of Chicago where he majored in Economics.  At the University of Chicago he was a captain of a team that had two Sweet-16 and one Elite-8 appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament.  Tyler holds records for season and career 3-pt field goal percentage at the school.  During his career the Maroons won back to back Conference championships and set the record for conference wins in a season going 17-0.

Tyler resides in Kirkland.

 

 

CJ STANFORD  Boys 6th Grade Elite

Coach Stanford also begins his second season with EBC.  He is a recreation specialist with Issaquah Parks and Recreation and co-ordinates all recreation leagues.

 

Over the last four years C.J. has been a head coach for the “Wildcat Select” basketball program in the upper Snoqualmie Valley.  In addition to his involvement with the “Wildcat Select program”, he has served as the head C-Team coach for Mount Si High School’s spring program for the last two years.  C.J. continued played football and basketball at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie.  Going into his sophomore football season, he sustained a major leg and ankle injury that prohibited him from playing football and basketball through his sophomore, and into his junior year.  After major reconstructive surgery, C.J. continued to play and lettered in football during his junior and senior seasons. A graduate of Eastern Washington University, Coach Stanford is currently finishing his Master’s of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership through Gonzaga University.

 

C.J. and his wife Orlia reside in Issaquah.  C.J.  has 1 championship while at EBC.

 

 

 

 

JEFF WANOUS  Boys 5th Grade Elite

Coach Wanous begins his second season with EBC.  He played high school basketball in Caldwell, Idaho.  He is also very familiar with Eastside basketball having coach at the Eastlake Select program in the past.  A twenty year veteran of the game he has been an AAU coach for the past four years.  He resides in Bothell.
